success in life - stories

examples of members who make most out of their membership of Nemato Change a Life

Ashley Backward

Ashley has faced more challenges in life than is healthy for a human being, but he simply refuses to give up. Already at a young age he was not only very active in our programme, but also motivating others to join him in all his activities. He is proving that commitment (and a bit of Nemato Change a Life support) is all it takes to become successful in life. He was our first beneficiary to become our Member of the Year.

He is a brave pioneer, our first member to move to Port Elizabeth to study at PE College. He paved the way for a whole group of members studying there now. His commitment made him our first member to complete bronze, silver and gold levels of the President's Award. He received the gold award in Cape Town, handed over to him by the Earl of Wessex and President Zuma. He has become an active member of the South African Gold Award Holders Association (SAGAHA) and an award leader for Nemato Change a Life.

We wish him good luck with his engineering study at PE College (tough maths!).
