Our main funder, the Mike Thomson Change a Life Trust, built us the Nemato Change a Life Centre in our township.
The centre has two classrooms (Room 13 and Room 20), accommodation, an office, a kitchen, a workshop, and toilets.
Our centre is community based in Nelson Mandela Township (Nemato). It has a small 'RDP' house, with the office, workshop and accommodation in the front, and the bigger building with the classrooms in the building in the back. We are building a connection between the two buildings that will become our kitchen.
Our office is not only used to run our organisation, but it also offers computers and internet access to our members and to our community for study, career and community projects. Here we are painting our office.
In this room we run our numeracy programme. We also cook here and do our recycling. We also want to run an arts programme here, as an alternative for our sports, but that hasn't worked out yet.
This is our maths class. Sometimes when it's raining we also use it for fencing. It's also our meeting room and we have our second keyboard here. The piano is unfortunately too old to play.
